Living Conditions

The school takes place in the rural countryside, about 2-3 hours from Lviv by train. It is a remote setting with flower-filled meadows and forests full of blueberries and mushrooms. The nearby Carpathian Mountains produce variable weather conditions in the region, often including significant precipitation. Temperatures can range from the 80′s during the day to low 40′s or even upper 30′s at night. Volunteers should be prepared for unpredictable weather conditions. Volunteers typically share dormitory-style rooms with 2 or 3 other persons (including fellow teachers). Ukrainian-style cafeteria meals are provided.
